blind reading is the collaborative work of Gabriela Mateescu, Tăietzel Ticălos, Alexandra Ivanciu and myself which takes place in front of the university in Bucharest. it is a performance that criticizes the Romanian education system that keeps a very traditional way of teaching. professors focus on the theoretical side of things, there are no hands-on lessons and students tend to study without actually learning anything. the system does not promote critical thinking, creativity or a sense of curiosity.

we blind folded ourselves and attempted to read course books and school notes. we performed this action two days in a row for two hours each day.
